→I’m feeling sad because my best friend is going to another city that is a long way from here.

[We can say “not far from” and “a little far from”, but “far from” has only special uses, eg. “Let’s run away together and get far away from this place!”]

cf. The shop that is looking for workers is ~~far~~ a long way from the city.
